How to Care for your Shower Enclosure

by admin 18 Jun 2012
At Serene Bathrooms, we stock a massive range of stunningly designed shower enclosures, the sleek and stylish aesthetics suiting a variety of bathroom looks. However, to ensure your shower enclosure stays looking at its best, you'll need to maintain it properly, so read on for some handy hints on how to keep your shower unit looking great.

Prevention is the Best Cure

Although most people will clean their bathroom weekly or fortnightly, the best time to clean your shower is straight after you've used it. Taking a few minutes after you've finished your shower will make it much easier than if you allow the dirt and mildew to build up. When the shower is turned off, use a squeegee or sponge to wipe down the walls of the enclosure; removing any residual water droplets. You should do the same for the standing water left in the shower tray, as it is this left over moisture that causes the most hygiene problems.

Remove Soap Scum

Something to incorporate into your weekly bathroom spring clean is removing the build up of soap scum on the enclosure which will stain the glass and spoil the look of your shower. To do this, use a mild detergent, though you will need to first check that the chemicals will not damage the material the enclosure is made of.

For Hard Water Areas

If you live in a hard water area then you will begin to notice stains developing which you will need to remove with a detergent designed for removing these hard water marks. Like when removing soap scum, you will need to first check with the cleaning products suppliers that the detergent is safe to use on your enclosure. At Serene Bathrooms, we understand that what with the toilet, sink and flooring, there is a lot to clean in a domestic bathroom, but by following this guide, you can help to make it that little bit easier. What is Lorem Ipsum? Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. Why do we use it? It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
